Quick & Nutritious: How To Make Classic Black Beans And Rice

Ingredients: 

  • 1 cup dried black beans, soaked overnight and drained 
  • 2 cups water 
  • One tablespoon of olive oil 
  • 1 onion, chopped 
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced 
  • 1 teaspoon cumin, dried oregano, Salt and pepper, to taste 
  • 2 cups cooked white rice 

Instruction: 

Cooking black beans and rice is easy! While the pot is hot, add the olive oil and cook the onion, garlic, and bell pepper until they are soft. Add black beans that have been soaked overnight and rice that has been cooked in oil.  

Then, add enough water to cover everything. Salt, pepper, oregano, cumin, and garlic powder should be added to taste. Once the pot starts to boil, lower the heat and let it cook for 20 minutes. Keep an eye on it so that the liquid doesn’t rise to the top of the rice. Put it in a low heat and wait 15 minutes. After that, take it off the heat and leave the lid on for 5 to 8 minutes. Lastly, use a fork to fluff everything up and serve hot!
